I believe that creativity is a gift, though one that has to be polished constantly for it to shine. That is why I take any opportunity to learn and to 'exercise my gray matter'.
I see animation as possibly the ultimate expression of human creativity as it combines story, art, music, dance, and acting all into one medium. While no one person may be able to master all the aspects of animation, a good animator should be aware of all of these aspects. This is probably why I chose to be an animator. Specialization is necessary, but I am just as fond of music and storytelling as I am of traditional art, and I could not bear to choose a career that would force me to focus on one form of expression and completely divorce the others.
I also see with the gift of creativity a responsibility - to create for the benefit of others. It is not just a way to make money, or just to entertain (many may disagree with me here, its your right), I believe that behind all the fancy effects and fireworks there should be a story that makes people smarter, more open-minded, kinder, and happier.
